The Grand National is something of a British¬†institution. It’s one of the most famous races in the world, and a real high point of the racing calendar in any season. First run in 1839 it’s far from the oldest British race, but with a prize fund just shy of ¬£1,000,000, and roughly half of that going to the winner, it’s the most valuable jump race in Europe. Aintree has the honour of hosting this epic chase each year, and the ‘going’ this year is said to be ‘good – soft’.
As usual with horse racing, a lot has centred around the runners and the odds, with last minute changes, tips and rumours flying around. To try and help you out with all of this we’ve created our Grand National interactive infographic above, so have a browse through and see if any look good to you. If you get really desperate, our own tip is at the bottom, but it’s nothing more than a hunch!
