We’ve been working with a lot of brands and publications over the last few weeks – you may have seen our feature in Advanced Photoshop Magazine, or our chapter in the most recent B2B Marketing ebook – and this is something we’re aiming to continue over the coming months (keep your eye out for our posts on MOZ, Social Media Examiner and Econsultancy). This week we’re featuring our collaborative project with Telefonica, producing an infographic in partnership with them on the benefits and current usage of HTML5. HTML5 has grown... Read The Rest →
We often like to include client infographics on our blog; particularly those we’re especially proud of and/or those that contain pertinent and interesting data. We recently completed one such infographic for one of the UK’s most well-known web hosts – Heart Internet. As a prominent sponsor and supporter of web design and development events in the United Kingdom, Heart Internet gathered some fantastic data on the continued and explosive growth of the events throughout the country; showing not only the growing popularity of conventions in the industry, but revealing some... After weeks of design, planning and coding, we’ve finally taken the plunge and fully redesigned the Designbysoap Ltd website. The new website features a combined, dedicated landing page for our infographic design service, incorporating static infographics, interactive design, motion graphics and data visualisation. As well as this, we’ve completely redone our infographic portfolio (which you can now find on the homepage), written a brand new about us page and completely redesigned our on-site blog to fit our new branding. The website is now also fully responsive, meaning you get an optimal... Read The Rest →
Regular readers of our blog will know that not only are we huge fans of infographics, but we regularly design them for other SEO companies, high profile blogs, large corporations, etc. A few weeks ago we designed the ‘What Are Websites Made Of’ infographic for the fantastic Six Revisions website, which saw a huge amount of interest and reposts. After leaving it a few weeks we thought we’d add the infographic to our own blog, for those who haven’t already seen it posted around the net. If you’re looking for... Read The Rest →

The term refers to a font (or set of around 20) that are present by default on a large percentage of computer systems (windows and mac basically). A belief in this myth has lead to the widespread use of fonts such as Arial or Verdana, without proper thought to as to how the page will display for someone who doesn’t have them. For example if only one, sans-serif, font is specified through... Read The Rest →

A friend asked me the over the weekend how we come up with our colour schemes; in the past we’ve utilised colour cards and charts in the office but over the last few months we’ve been using the amazing Adobe Kuler. Kuler is an online tool that allows you to make 5 tone colour schemes that complement each other perfectly; you can make totally custom colour schemes, or organise them in pre-disposed schemes (monotonal, triad, etc) by picking the main colour. You can find it at adobe.kuler.com or just by... Read The Rest →
