Visualising The History of Flight

We’re extremely proud to work with some fantastic brands, agencies and publications, and often get the pleasure of seeing our work in print or other real-world situations. One such opportunity arose last month when we were approached by the publishers of History Revealed (formerly BBC History), who asked us to complete a double page spread for their first issue under the new name.

The two-page graphic visualises the history of flight, from the Wright Brothers completing their first flight in 1903 through to the first solo non-stop circumnavigation of the globe in 2005:

As well as looking at the major flight milestones over the years, the graphic looks at the innovators of flight, the changing size and shape of planes and the speed records throughout the years:

The next issue will feature another double page spread from Designbysoap, this time visualising the numbers behind The Titanic – we’ll be featuring those graphics next week.
